One of the challenges of food styling is having subjects that don’t warp under hot studio lights – especially when shoots can last for hours. Recently I taught myself how to make indestructible model butter that keeps its shape and color even after a few days of shooting. After I posted my latest butter test on my Instagram, I decided to also shoot the butter alongside some ingredients meant for my actual dinner that night. A simple two-light setup and some off-the-cuff styling turned out to be really fun!
