When I found out about The Big Egg Hunt coming to New York City, I was very excited! I read about the event in London and was very thrilled to see it unfold in my own city. However, with life being what it is and my freelance schedule going into full drive, I didn’t have any time to search for the beautifully designed eggs. Fortunately, after Easter weekend, many of the eggs were showcased at Rockefeller Center and I was able to see a few of my favorites before they went to auction.

I was amazed at how each designer was able to take the common platform of the egg and truly make it their own. Styles ranged from intricately detailed…to artistic mediums and patterns…to New York City inspired. It was great to see such amazing talent all in one place and all going to a good cause. It’s hard to pick a favorite. (It was difficult just editing my choices to showcase for this post.) If I were to say which ones attracted the most camera clicks by the crowd, it would be the Easter-themed egg by Beth Katleman and the ornately decorated egg by Marchesa. Really they were all lovely and worth taking a look at the Egg Gallery on The Big Egg Hunt website.

I hope this event comes around again next year…maybe by then I will get to go out around New York City and hunt for them!
