Yup, I posted one Instagram photo in February.
It wasn’t because February was full of blizzards…or it was full of the promise of buttfalls and faceplants…or the fluffy white snow was slowly turning into piles hard frozen dirt. I spent most of the harsh weeks of winter enjoying endless cups of tea and dedicating my time to retouching workshops and test shoots. There are days when I love snow in New York City but for the most part, it is charming in the first snow of the holidays but then it becomes absolute nightmare when it is still snowing by the end of March or April and people around the world are posting photos of pink cherry blossoms.
Since I didn’t have posts for February, this is the perfect time to share my #graceannevergarabw Instagram posts. I love editing in monochrome – it reminds me of my first photographs in the film days. There’s nothing like the old fashioned process of watching a chemical reaction in a darkroom. When I can’t find the time to do that, it’s nice to use my favorite filters in PicTapPro and VSCOcam – which have come a really long way from the simple black and white filter.
