Donuts. I love them.

Anyone who knows me knows that I love gifting them by the dozens, I love being in the company of others that love donuts, and most of all, I love having them on set. When I was practicing artificial soft light, I had some hibiscus donuts on set and one of them coincidentally looked like an ideal “hero”. There weren’t any live hibiscus flowers on hand but I had a few prop flowers from another styling project. I worked fairly quickly since studio lights are hot and real icing tends to melt and I totally wasn’t going to waste a perfectly good donut. Even though this was only a test shoot, the end results almost remind me of the ads for beauty products. It definitely gave me some great ideas for future photo shoots!
