When I’m focused on a goal, especially one that involves improving my skills, I forget to look back to see how far I’ve come.
About a year ago, when I was searching for a creative outlet and chose to take my photography to the next level, the photo on the right was the first one I took with my new professional-grade lens. Disappointed and expecting much better results, this was also the moment I realized that no matter how great the gear, it was practice and knowledge that would take me further.
After spending my spare time practicing, editing, and studying photography websites, I took a new photo of peonies…and I was pleasantly surprised! People often ask why I love photography…and this is one of the reasons why. Looking between the two photos, I see not only how far I’ve come but also how much more I have to go. It has been a rewarding journey and I’m ready for more!
