Happy June everyone! I am so excited for this month!

This year, I’ve been working in photography at a full-time capacity and I am so happy for making the decision. There’s still a lot to figure out but I know I thoroughly enjoy capturing lifestyle and food. I first became interested when I began designing restaurants over two years ago. For me, it’s not just about the food on the plate but the entire culture of the industry: from the artistic approach of the chef to the atmosphere of the restaurant.

I’m excited to see where this direction will take me. With a refined goal in my sights, I’m taking on more classes and workshops, starting with a session CreativeLive: Story on a Plate where I hope to learn more about the lighting and styling in this genre of photography.

If you’re also interested, log on to CreativeLive while the workshop is broadcasting live for free. More information can be found on the White on Rice website (the talented food photographers who will be sharing their secrets). Also, on another note, if you’re a photographer based in New York City, I’d love to get together over a cup of awesome food-photographer-worthy coffee and share ideas and stories! If you’re interested, feel free to drop me a line!
